Carolina Rain was a country music group from Nashville, Tennessee that consisted of Jeremy Baxter (from Lebanon, Tennessee), Rhean Boyer (from Virginia Beach, Virginia) and Marvin Evatt (from Central, South Carolina).

Jeremy began singing and playing the mandolin when he was 16 years old. He later joined his family's bluegrass/gospel music group, New Grace, performing in area churches throughout his teen years. After completing high school, he became a member of the Vol State Singers while attending community college.

Rhean comes from a musical family. He got his first guitar when he was 7 years old and became a local rock star by the time he reached high school. At the age of 17, he left home where he ran with a biker group and later struggled with alcohol addiction. By 1989, he moved to Nashville, later got sober, began playing the guitar again and started writing songs for artists such as Lee Greenwood & Doc Walker.

Marvin grew up singing in his hometown of Central, South Carolina. He attended Andrews College in Cuthbert, Georgia on a voice scholarship, harmonizing in gospel quartets and was being groomed for Broadway musicals when he decided to move to Nashville.

Rhean and Marvin met at Belmont University in Nashville while they were both working as campus security guards and wrote songs together during their down time. Jeremy was invited to jam with them, and they formed a music duo called Carolina Rain (named after the first song they wrote together).

Carolina Rain attracted the attention of county music artist Clint Black's fledgling record label, Equity Music Group and they became the first music act signed to the label in 2004.

During that same year, they released their debut single, "I Ain't Scared" which peaked at #41 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks, staying on the chart for 12 weeks.

Their follow-up single, "Louisiana Love" didn't chart, but their third single, "Let's Get It On" peaked at #57 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, staying on the chart for 6 weeks.

In September of 2006, Carolina Rain released their debut album, "Weather the Storm" which peaked at #60 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

The lead single, "Get Outta My Way" peaked at #28 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, staying on the chart for 30 weeks.

The follow-up single, "Isn't She" peaked at #26 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, staying on the chart for 24 weeks, making it their highest-charting single to date. The last single, "Dealin' " didn't make the charts at all.

In late 2008, Carolina Rain released a new single called "American Radio" which peaked at #53 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, staying on the chart for 8 weeks. It was supposed to be the lead single for their sophomore album of the same name.

Another single, "Weight of the World" was released, but didn't make the charts. After that, Equity Music Group closed down in December of 2008 and the group's album was apparently shelved. By 2009, Carolina Rain had disbanded.

These days (according to research), Marvin Evatt is still active in the music business with his own solo career. He also resides in Greenville, North Carolina with his wife, Lori.

Rhean Boyer resides in Lebanon, Tennessee with his wife, Tonya (who works as a music & drama teacher at McClain Christian School) and two children. It's unknown what he's currently up to these days.

Jeremy Baxter also resides in Lebanon, Tennessee with his wife, Tyelisa and their two children; like Rhean, it's also unknown what he's currently up to these days.
